A domain name is simply a description of a computer's location on the Internet. For an organization, a domain name is similar to a customized license plate. Registering a domain name on the Internet is the equivalent of registering a company name at Companies House. Once registered, no-one else can use that name. As there are many companies with similar names, it is important to register a suitable domain name for your company as soon as possible. A domain name is a way by which a company can uniquely identify itself on the Internet. If your company name was your firm Inc., the domain name would be yourfirm.com. Your web site would be located at: http://www.yourfirm.com and your email addresses would be in the form of: username@yourfirm.com There are three different types of domain names that you can register. The general purposes for these domains are: .com Commercial, .net Network and .org Miscellaneous Organizations.

Once we received your request for the registration of new Domain Name or change the DNS settings of existing Domain Name, it takes approximately 48 hours to complete the process.

".com", ".net" and ".org" are called as global top level domains and gives you global presence and image. These are three different extensions and you can choose one or any three with the name your register.

It is very simple to register your domains with Cyberbrainz.com. Just check availability of name through "whois" search. If the name you want is available, book it straight away online. Your domain name will start reflecting in the whois search within 24 hours or realization of the payment.

The domain registered via Cyberbrainz.com or our partners is like any other domain registered via say Network Solutions or InterNIC. We also offer country specific domain names. For Indian domain names (co.in, net.in, org.in) the pricing is Rs.575/- per year., for top level .in domains the pricing is Rs. 875/- per year.

7. How can you register the domain so cheap? top

The reason we offer it cheaply is that we buy domains in bulk, and hence, can sell them cheaper.

8. What are these Admin, Billing and Technical contacts? top

They were/are used when domains are registered. They are individuals who are the points of contact for each function

9. If I book Domain Name with you, how am I supposed to pay you? top

You can pay us by Cheque or DD if favour of Cyberbrainz Web Solutions payable at Amritsar, India

10. My site is not ready, can I still register my domain name now? top

Yes. we (Cyberbrainz.com) will register your domain name and keep it for you till the time you are ready to host the site. The day you are ready to host your domain, you will have to contact us by email or telephone and we will setup your domain on our servers. (When required, your domain will be activated within 24 hours, Monday to Saturday only). We will set up your domain on our servers. After that a single web page indicating that your site is "under construction" will be put up by us.

11. How long does it take for a Domain to be registered? top

As soon as we receive your payment your name is registered and message of confirmation is sent to you simultaneously. You can register names through our site and opt for one of the multiple payment options available

12. Once the domain name gets registered can I change the name of the registrant? top

To change the name of the Registrant of the Domain, you have to come to us in person with a letter clearly mentioning the Name of the new Registrant and his/her address and e-mail. You can simply send us mail to change information of other contacts.

13. What is the domain price? top

The price for each domain is INR Rs 525/- per domain per year. For details on domain pricing mail us or Call Us. However we offer free domain name with all hosting plans available with us.

14. After registering multiple domains, whether I can pay by one single Demand Draft? top

Yes, you can do so. Mention all the Domain Names you are paying for at the back side of the cheque/DD. Without these details it will not be possible to process your request.

15. How do I change Name Servers? top

Changing your name servers is very simple. Just mail us with the details of new name servers at support@cyberbrainz.net, we will make the necessary changes.

16. If I register a domain do I need to renew before expiry? top

Yes, you need to do so before expiry or else the name will become available again and any other person can register it.

17. What is the shortest/longest period for which I can register a domain? top

As per the current rules you can register for a minimum of 1 year & maximum of 10 years.

18. If I change my Email address will that make a difference? top

Yes, we communicate via Email, so please notify us of your new Email address.

19. If I change residence will that make a difference? top

No, we communicate via email, so unless you change your e-mail it will not make any difference. Moreover to make any change in your contact address you can always contact us at support@cyberbrainz.net and we will update out database.

20. Can you design my WebPages for me? top

21. How shall I get the bill and invoice for my payment? top

We do not normally send any bills or invoices. All our correspondence is via e-mail and we inform your payment amount over e-mail. However if you need the invoice/receipt of your payment you can mail us at support@cyberbrainz.net  with full details of the domain name and the payment made to us.

22. What is the process of domain transfer and how does it work? top

After filling in the form and when the payment is cleared you will receive an Email which you have to reply to. This is to authenticate that the domain belongs to you. The domain will then get transferred and renewed.

23. How long will it take to transfer a domain? top

It will take about one month depending on the Registrar and the Administrative Contacts for the transfer to be executed.

24. How much should I pay to transfer a domain and renew it for one year? top

You pay only INR Rs.575/- for a one-time transfer.

25. What is the procedure of renewal if the domain has been registered by different registrar? top

If you don't want to transfer the Domain Name to us the you have to renew your domain through your existing registrar by paying them the amount they charge for renewal.

26. If I register a domain name, do I have to renew my annual fees before expiry of the period every year? Is there no block registration for life? top

Yes, you will be sent a reminder and If you do not renew, the domain will simply become available again. There is no block registration, currently you can register for a maximum of 10 years.

27. What is domain parking? top

When you register a domain and do not host it, it is Domain Parking. Cyberbrainz.com has merely let the customer use its name servers to register the domain.

28. How much will it cost to develop the multimedia? top

Putting of Web site on some servers. e.g. servers of Cyberbrainz.com where it becomes visible to the internet users across the globe is known as Web site hosting.

30. Why do I need it? top

If you wish to have your website seen by users 24 hours, then it must reside on a server which is connected to the Internet 24 hours, such as Cyberbrainz.com's server.

31. Are FTP details supplied so that I can upload my site? top

If you have taken Webspace from us, your FTP Username and Password will be E-mailed to you.

Yes we do support SSL the details are provided in the Alliances section of our Web site.

33. Can MP3 files be hosted on our server. Is there any extra charge for the load our servers will bear for download requests? top

Yes, they can as long as they are legal. We reserve the right to close any site which we find to contain copied, or illegal material, e.g. pictures, software, sound files.

34. Is it necessary to have website designed by Cyberbrainz since I am taking space from you? top

No, feel free to design the site yourself, or from any other design house. But we do provide a quality designing at very reasonable prices

35. Is design inclusive of programming? top

When we quote for a site, we will include the programming costs as additional, even though it forms the overall design of the site

36. What language do you use for Design? top

The majority of the Web site is done in HTML. If programming is required we will do it in ASP, Perl, or any other we find suitable, unless the customer has a particular preference.

37. Do you support hosting the web-site developed using ASP, JSP? top

38. What are your charges for registering to various search engines? top

The search engine submission is free one time when you purchase hosting services from us. If you want our service for full year, i.e., submission for 12 times in one year, we charge Rs.1,600- for that.

39. Can we change the platform of Web site once it is hosted? top

Yes you can change the platform. You will be charged one time fee of INR Rs.1,900/- and the files will be transferred at your end through FTP.

40. Do you monitor my mail? top

No we don't, we however do have automatic monitoring of mail we think to be Spam, which we will hold.

41. Can I host more than one Web site under my 20 Mb Web space? top

Yes, you can make any number of sires like www.yourdomain.com/newsite but cannot point domains to subdirectories under that Web space.

42. What is the guaranteed uptime of your server? top

98% over the course of the year.

43. Is the space used by my database part of the overall space that I purchase? top

We have Standard Web hosting accounts which offer the most value available anywhere on the internet for web hosting. We also offer Commercial Web hosting accounts which provide even more bandwidth and features such as SSL which is required to enable electronic commerce.

45. How Fast is my Account Set Up? top

There are two components to setting up your account. First is the good news. We can set up your account within 3 minutes. This is the part of the process we can control. You'll be assigned an IP address and be able to begin authoring your website immediately. The second component is coordinating with the InterNIC regarding registration of the domain name you've chosen. This can take from several days to several weeks depending on the workload at the InterNIC and if there are any disputes relating to ownership of the domain you've chosen. We've already done basic checks to see that your domain name is available for registration. 

46. How do I start to get my site customized for me? top

Your site is basically a storage location on our servers with the ability of anyone on the internet to retrieve documents stored in your site using a protocol called http. Normally customers create pages off-line and then upload them to their Cyberbrainz.com web hosting account whereby they become immediately accessible by anyone with a web browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer. To facilitate getting your pages created we offer you a solution, wherein you can contact our business development department at designteam@cyberbrainz.com, wherein they can provide you with the solution to your problem.

47. Can I have multiple domain names pointed at the same web hosting account? top

Yes! While we don't recommend this since you're not going to get separate accounting, you can register a second domain for web hosting and have us point the www record in your "zone file" in DNS at any IP address. This IP address can be an existing Cyberbrainz Web hosting server. Any traffic generated by the additional domains will be counted as bandwidth against your web hosting account which is actually housing your files. You'll also have the ability to redirect all email going to the domain to a specific email address. Once you have the additional web hosting account set up, please email our support once you've gone through the registration process for all of the domains you want modified. Please note that you must have a web hosting account with its associated yearly fee for each domain name.
